Age Assurance

Today with a mDL, age attestation and selective disclosure is already part of the standard.  This can be used online and offline supporting over the counter verification.   This enables many of the same use cases where a traditional driver's license was used, but without having to disclose other private information like your name, address or even your date of birth.

We will showcase soon how this capability has been applied and effectively regulated today across countries, borders and channels.

We will showcase a country that has applied the standards and understand what other considerations need to be applied to effectively manage and enable that trust long term.

Creating other Credentials

Under ISO 23220 for Mobile Electronic Identity, you can use the capabilities developed for Mobile Driver Licences and apply it for other credentials.  Credential examples already include:

1. Digital Travel Compliant (DTC) Photo ID

2. Vaccination Certificates (miCOV)

3. Vehicle Registrations

4. Occupational Licences

The building blocks are established to use these standards for your different verifiable credentials

Privacy

The standard has strong privacy protections that include selective disclosure.  This allows holders to choose what they want to share.

The standard also allows users to keep a track of what data relying parties have asked for, including purpose and period of retention.
